Persimmon is an ancient fruit consumed by people all over the world. There are many reasons to consume this wonderful fruit, including:

Despite the advantages, there are some things you need to be careful for in consuming persimmon. Persimmon is not recommended for anemic patients, as the fruit contain tannin, which binds well with iron and may interfere with the body’s absorption of the mineral. Iron is vital in the treatment with anemia.

Milk is also not advised to be eaten with Persimmon. You should wait for at least an hour after drinking milk before consuming the fruit. Persimmon is also not advised to be consumed on an empty stomach. Thus, it is usually eaten as a dessert.

Persimmon has been consumed for over 700 years. Although it originated in China, it was mentioned in the philosophical texts of early Greek thinkers such as Plotinus, Anaximander, Thales, Plato, Aristotle, and Socrates, due to its enduring features. It was even known as nature’s candy and fruit of the gods. This definitely alleviates the fruit’s status today. Now, it is consumed by millions of people all over the world.
